What is CIS? (and why it matters!)

The Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) requires contractors to deduct tax from subcontractors’ payments and report this accurately to HMRC every month. When CIS goes wrong, the consequences can include:

  • Incorrect deductions
  • Late or inaccurate submissions
  • HMRC penalties and audits
  • Disputes with subcontractors
  • Reputational risk

That’s where Active Payroll steps in, ensuring every deduction, return, and submission is accurate, compliant, and stress-free.
